ABOUT THE CAR In 1996 PANOZ MOTOR SPORT made the decision to develop a racer car. “The resulting car became known as the PANOZ ESPERANTE GTR-1 and was developed by Reynard Special Vehicles Projects in England…
American muscle with a flare for the exotic! This 600 bhp front/mid-engine (engine is located behind the front axel) racer was released onto the race circuits of the world in 1997 at the famous Sebring 12hr venue. Powered by a Roush-prepared Ford V8 that creamed down the straightaway, this car was a fan favorite. Dubbed the “Batmobile” while racing in Europe, this car followed the trend in GT racing for fron-engined cars such as the Marcos and Dodge Viper GTS-R”.
Roush/FORD OHV V8, 5999cc engine, with estimated 600 hp and estimated torque 500 lb-ft
Presented as on 1997 24hrs Le Mans #54 DAVID PRICE RACING, driven by: B. Leitzinger, J. Weaver and A. Wallace. The car abandoned the race with a broken engine.

ABOUT THE MODEL 1/43 scale is the most popular, one of the oldest, international scale used for die cast cars models.
ONYX Collectible Models by CINERIUS in Portugal (Made in China) and was a part of Vitesse Group of companies. They debuted in 1/43 scale F1 Cars and later Indy Cars. Several years prior the bankruptcy of Vitesse Group Onyx manufactured 1/43 models of Sport Cars, Touring and Rally cars.
“Onyx models have always been of very good quality with accurate paint finish and detailing. They have rubber tires and plastic baseplate”. Model comes with its own display case packet in a cardboard.
Vitesse name along with most streetcars dies went to Sun Star (was actual manufacturer of most street cars, developer and owner of many dies) and the company that now we know as IXO. I believe that ONIX models were manufactured by a company the now runs IXO.
