In 2003 Audi works team didn’t participated in racing and in absence of the Bentley’s parental company works team significant efforts were made to improve Bentley Speed 8 up to the point it will be able to compete for 1^st place.  The car went though numbers of serious updates and took 1^st and 2^nd place at Le Mans.

The Bentley EXP Speed 8 was entered by Team Bentley (GB) in LMP900 group.  Driver team consisted of: Rinaldo Capello (I), Tom Kristensen (DK) Guy Smith (GB).

2003 24 Hours Le Mans race was held on June 14-15, with approximately 220,000 people attended the race.  Out of 49 starters 30 cars classified (finished). 

The other team car #8 finished in second position.
