The third generation GS was fist introduced as 2006 model at the 2005 North American International Auto Show, previously called Detroit Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. Initial model lineup included the GS 300 (GRS 190) and GS 430 (UZS 190) with the same 4.3 L V8 used in the previous model.  Production began on January 24, 2005.  A 4.6L GS 460 (URS 191) replaces the GS 430 for the 2008 model year.  The GS 460 received new engine, transmission and some interior and exterior changes.
