In 1955 Bianchi, Pirelli and Fiat established the Italian automaker Autobianchi (pronounced [α.utobi’ɔnki jointly.

A112 a modern front wheel drive supermini was introduced in 1969.  Many specialists described A112 as the best car produced by Autobianchi.  Autobianchi cars were priced higher compare to similar Fiats and Fiat tested many their innovation on Autobianchi.

A112 was available in 3-door body style only and was powered by inline OHV 4 cylinder engine that was updated during the car production life cycle and had three displacements of 903 cc, 965 cc and latest 1049 cc.

The car was in production for 17 years, until 1985, with over 1.25 million units were produced.  The A112 was updated numerous times and had seven series.

In mid 70’s Autobianchi was purchased by Fiat group and integrated into the operation of Lancia.  Thus on most markets it was marketed as Lancia with exception of Italian and French markets were it was marketed under its original name.  The A112 replacement Y10 became known as Lancia Y10 and only on the Italian market it was produced under the Autobianchi badge.  Production of Y10 stopped in 1992 and with that the Autobianchi brand disap0peared.

Saab in Sweden also marketed Lancia A112 where it was known as Saab-Lancia A112.

Starline Models is a new name on the very competitive market of 1/43 scale diecast car models.  The company based in Germany, but models produced in China (P.R.C.)  Collection consists mostly of Italian Cars models from 60’s-70’s.   It appears that most models present cars that aren’t available from different model makers or very difficult to find.

Models are well detailed with very good paint job and nicely done wheels.  Bumpers and grill  have “chrome” finish, body “chrome” package like windows trip are painted silver (good quality), windshield wipers on most models “silver” painted.  Each model presented in different colors with individual catalog number.

In my personal opinion as a collector this line quality wise is a strong competitor to New Vitesse and IXO and compete well with Minichamps brands.

Packaging consist of display case (black plastic base with a slope front on which the car name, model and year printed in white, clear acrylic top and outer carton sleeve (metal gray in color with company logo all over it, open front, top and both ends).  Display is stackable and holds well.

In my best knowledge currently Starline Models presented on the US market only as
”grey export” – independed US dealer exported it from European dealers.
