Starline Models is a new name on the very competitive market of 1/43 scale diecast car models. The company based in Germany, but models produced in China (P.R.C.) Collection consists mostly of Italian Cars models from 60’s-70’s. It appears that most models present cars that aren’t available from different model makers or very difficult to find.
Models are well detailed with very good paint job and nicely done wheels. Bumpers and grill have “chrome” finish, body “chrome” package like windows trip are painted silver (good quality), windshield wipers on most models “silver” painted. Each model presented in different colors with individual catalog number.
In my personal opinion as a collector this line quality wise is a strong competitor to New Vitesse and IXO and compete well with Minichamps brands.
Packaging consist of display case (black plastic base with a slope front on which the car name, model and year printed in white, clear acrylic top and outer carton sleeve (metal gray in color with company logo all over it, open front, top and both ends). Display is stackable and holds well.
In my best knowledge currently Starline Models presented on the US market only as
”gray export” – independed US dealer exported it from European dealers.
ALFA-ROMEO 1750/2000
This car was manufactured by Italian automaker ALFA ROMEO. The car was a medium price range model presented in 1967. The 1750 Berlina (Saloon/Sedan) was based on the existing Alfa Romeo ‘Giulia’ range of cars. However, it has significant changes to the trim details and some changes to a body shape. The car was powered by 1.8 L engine rated at 116hp. US Export models were equipped with SPICA fuel injection. In 1972 the 1750 model was replaced with 2000 model. Approximately 100,000 cars were produced during the production cycle.
The 2000 had a different grill and was equipped with updated version of the engine that was bored and stroked to 1962 cc, with twin carburetor this twincam engine produced 130 hp and had top speed of 124 mph / 200 km/h a rather fast car for a time. The US export model was equipped with mechanical fuel injection. Most were produced with 5-speed manual transmission and some version had 3-speed automatic. The 2000 Berlina was in production 1971-1977 with a total of 89,940 cars produced.
The Starline Models Alfa Romeo 1750 Berlina model displays great. It is a really good model indeed.
