Models from the ixo-Junior plane collection at first were released as a part of A_ltaya collection that sold as subscription at Spain.  The models are the same but are packed in ixo packaging.  Ixo introduced line of 1/72 scale die cast planes of a good to very good quality in a great variety of models that hard to find or simply unavailable from other model makers.  The series gained high popularity among collectors, models are very difficult to find and often sold at premium price practically upon their releases.

Models come with a stand, set of landing gears that allow to display the plane in taking off / landing or flying conditions.

Made by Curtiss, USA the Warhawk first flew in 1938.  The production had been stop in November 1944 with 13,738 P-40s in different modifications were manufactured.  Single-engine, single-seat, low-wing, all-metal fighter and ground attack aircraft was used by air forces of 28 nations.  Many so-called specialist described the plane as an impotent and obsolescent at the time when the WW II started.  Such comments can be heard often with association of Japan attack on the Pearl Harbor and Japan’s air supremacy at the Pacific Theatre at the early period of the WW II.  Though the plane was unable to compete in maneuverability with famous Zero it was a good plane which when use properly inflicted a lot of damage on its enemies.  The good example is famous ‘Flying Tigers’ the China Airforce American Volunteer Group (A.V.G.) regiment that was operated by American volunteers.  While its brief operation (Dec. 1941 – July 1942) in China and Burma the unit shot down 286 Japanese aircrafts.  For any measure it is an outstanding result for a unit that started with 43 serviceable P-40B and 84 pilots (former US military pilots).  The A.V.G. lost 12 pilots killed or missing in action.  Take in consideration that the unit was greatly outnumbered, had no replacement pilots and virtually no spare parts for its planes.
