‘Maxicar’ is (was) registered trademark owned by Golden Dragon Group, Macau.  Models made in China.

The company appeared suddenly in early 00’s, I believe it was 2002 and disappeared within a year or two.   I strongly believe that for the models appeared under “maxi car” brand old Vitesse tollings were used.   They say that European based retailer that ordered the line filed for bankruptcy and most manufactured models was not even delivered to them.  The brand had a website that now is “unavailable”.

Models are of good quality indeed, and taking in consideration current low price on these models it is a pure bargain.   With this quality/price combination it is easy to make a decision to add maxi car models to your collection.   If you care about quality and appearance of a model but not a brand name that can be seeing on a model base plate these models are perfect deal.  It looks like ‘maxi car’ models could be welcome addition to an advance collection but simply a must for beginners.

Packaging: models attached with a crew to a display case base, car name printed on the front slope of a display base.  Display packed in a black color carton sleeve that has both ends open that allows a model observation from front and both ends.  A silver color carton insert with the model maker logo placed between a display and carton sleeve.  Display case is stackable and steady when seat on each other.

ALFA ROMEO SPIDER (1966-1993)

Debuted in 1966 the Alfa Romeo Spider had a really long production life of practically three decades.  Over this time the car went through very few changes.   At the time of its debut Spider was a quite advanced car with a long list of standard technical features that weren’t present on most Alfa’s competitor’s cars.  To mention some as double overhead camshafts, 5-speed transmission, fuel injection.   Over the years many Alfa’s competitors made better job to improve their products.  Nevertheless the almost three decades production cycle proved that the car was a good one and now is a true classic and a style icon.  Now Alfa Romeo Spider cars from different years of production described as Series 1-3 with pristine Series 1 could cost to a collector in a range of $25,000.

The engines were designed from racing technology and were available in 4-cylindes in line 1.3, 1.6, 1.75 and 2.0-liter (Junior, Veloce)
