ABOUT THE MOVIE.
“ ‘Z-Cars” made its first appearance on BBC Television in 1962 and immediately broke new ground with its realistic approach to the ‘cops and robbers’ genre. Created by Troy Kennedy Martin and named after the Ford Zephyr Police Cars of the Sixties which featured in the show, it ran 16 years spawning a spin off “softly, Softly’ and setting standards in police drama which still remain to this day.”.
ABOUT THE MODELUnlike most models from Movie & TV memorabilia series this one is highly detailed, collector quality and heavy model in 1/43 scale, not toy like 1/36. It featured rubber like tires; “chrome” bumpers, door handles; windshield wipers, police sigh and beacon on its roof; front windows are “half-open”; very accurate radiator grille, front and rear lights and license plates; 2 mirrors have to be attached on front fenders.
I truly believe that this is in fact model by Vanguard and since Corgi owned it they issued this model under Corgi name in their popular TV & MOVIE Series.
